National Nursing Home Week

Happy National Nursing Home Week: May 10 – 16, 2015!

Although our staff and residents and their families deserve to be recognized all year long, we want to pay special tribute to them during this year’s National Nursing Home Week.  We are so blessed to have such a wonderful, caring and experienced staff. Some of our nurses have been with us for 37 years and many have been with us for more than 10 years.

It’s not always the big things like the group activities, the furniture or the flowers on the patio that help make our facility feel like a home. To the contrary, it’s the little things that go unnoticed except between a resident and caregiver that help make a our facility feel homey and warm.

So this week lets celebrate and give thanks to the wonderful people who make Countryside Nursing Home such a wonderful place to be.

Countryside Nursing Home in Framingham has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report with a five-star rating in its annual 2014 Best Nursing Homes issue. This overall rating is highest possible rating.

The nursing home staff is excited about the recognition and pledges to provide continued excellence. “We are delighted to have our facility be featured in U.S. News & World Report’s annual Best Nursing Homes issue,” said John Steacie, Administrator  “We offer high quality, long-term care for women with personalized services designed to meet each individual’s needs, and it is so fulfilling to receive national recognition for these efforts.”

Data gathered from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) provides the basis for the ratings. CMS exists to help consumers, families and caregivers assess options for senior care. The data comes from regular health inspections carried out by state agencies and mandatory reporting from the residences. Facilities are evaluated on several categories including health inspections, level of nurse staffing and quality of care.

“We are honored to receive the top rating and are dedicated in our commitment to continue to provide quality care in all areas of our residents,” said Lynn Power, RN, Countryside’s Admissions Coordinator. “Our staff works hard to provide the best possible care. This 5 star rating highlights the dedication to high quality care that our staff provides.”
